Arrival and Dismissal
For your child's safety, please note, that if your child arrives to Memorial School before 8:30 A.M. or Villano School before 8:15 A.M. there is no adult supervision.  This does not apply if your child is in the before-care program.  Band and extra help students may arrive earlier via invitation and a pass is REQUIRED.

  • Pre-Kindergarten students:
    • AM pre-kindergarten children should line up outside next to the "little red house" by 8:35 A.M. for the morning session.
    • The PM pre-kindergarten children should line up in the outside the entrance to the Early Childhood Learning Center by 12:25 P.M. for the afternoon session.  On inclement days, a sign will be posted to bring the children into the school to line up in the hallway by their classroom door.
    • Dismissal will be the same for both pre-kindergarten sessions, through the rear doors facing Chestnut Street.  For your child's safety and security, the teachers will not release the child to anyone except the parent or someone duly designated (in writing) by the parent.
  • Kindergarten through Second Grade Students:
    • All first through second grade students should line up in their class lines on the blacktop at Memorial School.  Class lines will be labeled during the first week of school to direct students to the correct location.  Students arriving by bus will be escorted to their class lines by the bus duty supervisor. Students are to wait in their line and have a quiet conversation with their peers around them - this is not a time for recess.   On inclement days, students are to line up in the gym and sit in their appropriate grade level section and class line.
    • At the beginning of the school year, Memorial parents will receive a dismissal form to be returned immediately to school.  This form will indicate the mode by which each parent wishes their child to be dismissed on a regular basis.  Students will be dismissed according to this form unless otherwise indicated in writing by the parent.   If a parent is delayed at dismissal time, the teacher will escort the child to the office.  Please notify the school office if you will be delayed.   We require a note to the teacher regarding a change in dismissal plans for the day or in case you have to pick your child up early.
    • Children needing early dismissal must be picked up in the main office.  Keep in mind, please refrain from parking in the school parking lot as it is reserved for school personnel only.
  • Third through Sixth Grade Students:
    • Students should line up in their class lines in the courtyard of Villano School.  Class lines will be labeled during the first week of school to direct students to the correct location.  Students are to wait in their line and have a quiet conversation with their peers around them - this is not a time for recess.   On inclement days, students are to line up in the gym and sit in their appropriate class line.
    • At the beginning of the school year, Villano parents will receive a dismissal form to be returned immediately to school.  This form will indicate the mode by which each parent wishes their child to be dismissed on a regular basis.  Students will be dismissed according to this form unless otherwise indicated in writing by the parent.   Please notify the school office if you will be delayed.   We require a note to the teacher regarding a change in dismissal plans for the day or in case you have to pick your child up early.
